The Hour of Code aims at introducing students to the basics of computer science. The Hour of Code has become a worldwide effort to celebrate computer science. This campaign is supported by over 200,000 educators worldwide. The goal of the Hour of Code is to understand that computer science is fun and creative and can be accessible at all ages.
The Hour of Code was carried out at our school by our Kindergarten Assistants and LSAs with the support of our Digital Literacy Support Teacher. The theme ‘Winter’ was introduced. Students listened to rhymes about winter and carried out a beebot activity about items related to the season of winter and their shadow. Additionally, the light panel was also used for a sorting snowflakes activity and count the buttons for the snowman activity.
